Adrian Conley Stein

Adrian "AC" Conley Stein, age 63 of Aura, MI passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at the Omega House in Houghton, MI.

Adrian was born February 24, 1946 in L'Anse, MI son of Elmer and Saima (Lahti) Stein. He graduated from L'Anse High School in 1964; then graduated from Michigan Tech Forestry Program in Alberta. Adrian was then drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam era from 1966-68. He married the former Patricia Koski on June 28, 1969 in L'Anse. They moved to Adrian, MI for about two years where he worked as a surveyor for Associated Engineers and Surveyors. They moved back to Aura in 1971 and he worked at Celotex for a few years prior to starting his partnership business, Aura Forest Products. He worked for the Ojibwa Casino in security for 9 years, retiring in 2002.

Adrian was a member of the United Lutheran Church, National Rifle Association, and UP Whitetails. He enjoyed hunting fishing, sports, and league bowling for several years.

Surviving are his wife Patricia Stein of Aura; daughter Erin (Dan) Rovedo of Grayslake, IL; granddaughter Ella Rovedo; Sister Asenath (Roland) Sweeney of Aura; brothers Alan Stein of Aura and Arlen (Denise) Stein of L'Anse; mother a�"in-law Signe Koski of Aura; brother-in-law Douglas Koski of Fort Lauderdale, FL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding him in death are his parents, and father-in-law Norman Koski.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 30th from 11-1 pm at the United Lutheran Church in L'Anse. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm at the church. Rev. Scott Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Aura Cemetery. The Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct military rites at the graveside under the direction of the American Legion Post #444. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
