Agnes Martha (King) Johnson

Agnes Martha Johnson, age 94 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital She was born October 30, 1921 in Baraga, MI daughter of Richard and Jennifer (Ross) King. Agnes attended Baraga Schools. She married Earl Johnson in 1938 in Baraga; they resided in L’Anse. Agnes was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family. Surviving are her sons, Earl Johnson of Newberry, MI, Gary (Marcia) Johnson of Leonard, MI; Darlene Hansen, Bonnie (Mark) Peterson, and Delores (Timothy) Schneider all of L’Anse; 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Earl; sisters, Eva Jurmu, Laura Tollefson, Isabel Ellenich, Dorothy King, Anna Kangas, and Jeanette Almli. Visitation will be on Friday, June 10th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. Her funeral mass will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in the L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
