Bernice O. Rosemergy, age 93 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Friday, July, 2, 2010 at Bayside Village in L'Anse where she has been a resident for the past year.
Bernice was born May 20, 1917 in Allouez, MI, daughter to the late Harry and Gertrude (Sincock) Warn. She grew up in Mayflower location in Calumet and graduated from Calumet High School in 1937. Bernice married Russell Rosemergy in 1938 in Calumet. They owned and operated several grocery stores in Calumet, Baraga, and Skanee; and also a dry cleaners in L'Anse. They then moved to Westland, MI where she managed apartments; moving back to L'Anse in 1976. Bernice was a tour guide for the Baraga County Tourist Center.
She was a member of the L'Anse United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and the Happy 12 Card Club. Bernice enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter Marilyn Foucault of L'Anse; three grandsons, Steven (Deanna) Foucault of L'Anse, Michael (Mary) Foucault of McHenry, IL, and Jon (Ann Marie) Foucault of Albertville, MN; six great grandchildren; one great great grandson Easton Foucault; sister Dorothy Leahy of Holland, MI; sister-in-law Lyla Warn of Calumet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death are her husband Russell; brother William Warn; and sister Ada Warn.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the L'Anse United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. John Henry will officiate. Burial will be in the Calumet Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is in charge of arrangements.
