Carrie Lynn Babbitt

Carrie Lynn Babbitt, age 70 of Pelkie, MI passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Marquette General Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1939 in Knoxville, Tennessee daughter of the late Lester and Dora (Rhodes) Bruce. Carrie grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Rule High School in 1957. She worked for the Federal Glass Company in Columbus, OH for over 15 years; then she went to work in hospitality at the Hyatt in Columbus. On February 27, 1970 she married Thomas Babbitt in Columbus, OH. They moved to Naples, Florida in 1983 at which time she went to work for the Marriott Corporation in hospitality. They retired and moved to Pelkie in 2000.
Carrie loved to sew and play board games. She liked anything to do with the Christmas Holiday.
Surviving are her husband Thomas Babbitt & Mother-in-law Lucille Babbitt of Pelkie, MI; daughters, Melissa Strawser of Columbus OH & Beth (Mike) Gerhardstein of Marco Island FL; step sons, Tommy (Billie) Babbitt and Donnie (Tami) Babbitt both of Columbus OH; grandchildren Megan, Sean, Matthew, Liah, Fantasia, Tommy and Niki; and numerous great grandchildren, brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st from 11-1:00 pm at the Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. John Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Elo Cemetery.
