Chad Eric Tollefson

Chad Eric Tollefson, age 50, of L'Anse, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 18, 1974, in L'Anse, Chad was the beloved son of Garry and Helen (LaFernier) Tollefson. He graduated from L'Anse High School in 1992. Over the years, he worked at the Baraga Drive-In for 15 years and as a dedicated laborer for several construction companies and private individuals.

Chad lived life with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple joys it brought. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, searching for Yooperlites and beach glass, and spending time with friends. He was an avid softball player, fondly known by many as "Chadski." He found strength in his faith.

Chad is survived by his loving mother, Helen Tollefson of L'Anse; brother Garry "Joe" (Anna) Tollefson of Negaunee, MI; sisters Beth (David) Dix of L'Anse and Angela (Randy) Danison of Chassell. He is also remembered with love by his nieces and nephews: Jordan (Colleen) Dix, Cassie (Brandon) Shope, Samuel (Sierra) Dix, Sarah (Kip) Herich, Kiera, Derek, and Kaylah Dix, Sydney, Eli and Paige Danison, Isabel (Casey) Wilson, Abbie Tollefson; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Garry Tollefson.

The Tollefson family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Beacon House in Marquette for their compassionate care and support during Chad's illness.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Aaron Lindholm. Chad will be laid to rest at the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the KBIC Zeba Hall.
