Charles John “Chuck” Egbert, of Oxford, Michigan formerly of Baraga, MI, age 72, died August 25, 2015; born May 6, 1943 in Lansing, Michigan to Clio and Thelma (Serrels) Egbert. Chuck loved his family and friends, was an avid outdoorsman and a Detroit and Spartan sports fan. He loved cooking and was very involved in the “community” wherever he was living. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; brother, Lyn Egbert and great-grandson, Zaydin Patterson. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tammy (Stacey) Patterson, Kim (Rob) Gardner; sons, Lenny (Lisa Storandt) Egbert, Steve (Katie) Egbert; grandchildren, Casey, Chelsea, Chris, Hope, Taiylor, Bailee, Keenan, Victoria, Mike and Kelsey; great grandchildren, Peyton, Anneliesse, Madelynn, Faith, Liam; sister, Sandy Thelen and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with Pastor Dean Dockter officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to that service. Visitation will be held at Jacobson Funeral Home in L’Anse on Sunday, August 30th from 3-6:00 p.m. with the Baraga Fire Department conducting a service at 5:30 p.m. and the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. led by Fr. Corey Litzner. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 31st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Baraga with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Interment will be at the Baraga Cemetery.
