Charlotte Rajala

Charlotte "Lottie" Rajala, age 85 of L'Anse passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
Charlotte was born April 9, 1924 in Nottingham, England daughter of John and Ellen (Fuller) McKechnie. Charlotte married Carl Rajala on December 22, 1972 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marquette, Michigan. Charlotte is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington and a life member of Covington VFW Auxillary 8945. She loved gardening, flowers, fishing, soccer, tennis, traveling and spending winters in Lake Worth, Florida.
Surviving are her sister, Joyce Hopewell of Nottingham, England; brother-in-laws, Ray Perrow of L'Anse, Francis (Leona) Rajala of Watton, Peter (Susan) Rajala, Paul Rajala and James (Mary) Rajala all of Covington; sister-in-laws, Shirley Rajala of Green Bay WI., Alice Besonen of Covington, Gloria (Rudy) Franti of Ishpeming, Marcy (Dale) Collins of Watton and Linda Holma of Houghton. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews in England and the United States.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Carl; brothers, John, Bill, Ernest, Tom and Jim McKechnie; sisters, Minnie Hillyard and Nellie Mckechnie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 17th from 11:00-1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Rev. Mark Reinsch will officiate. Burial will be in Covington Cemetery in the spring. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
