Edna Margaret (Willett) Van Wert

Edna Margaret Van Wert, age 90 of L’Anse, MI passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Bayside Village in L’Anse.
She was born December 26, 1925 in Essexville, MI daughter to Theodore and Elizabeth (Grouix) Willett. Edna married Edward Ralph Van Wert on April 10, 1948 in Essexville. She was a home maker and worked on the family farm. Upon Edward’s retirement in the 1980’s they moved to Aura and then into L’Anse.
Edna was a member of a quilting club in Essexville and she continued her passion for quilting with the Aura Hospital Auxiliary. Along with her passion for quilting she loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and reading.
Surviving are her husband Edward of L’Anse; children, Alan Van Wert of Baraga, Lyle (Debbie) Van Wert of Prudenville, MI, Kim (Darlene) Van Wert of Aura, Susan (Stanley) Bruggeman of Warren, MN; grandchildren, Lydia Bruggeman, Zoe Bruggeman, Levi Van Wert, Marisa Kalmbach, step granddaughter, Jamie Mleko; and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Daniel and Lawrence Willett; sisters, Ada Deford,,Elizabeth VanOoteghem; and grandson Gavin Bruggeman.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. A luncheon and fellowship will follow in the church hall. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
