View Flowers Edward Joseph Cadeau, age 90 of Alston, MI passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at St Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI.

He was born September 27, 1921 in Baraga, MI son of the late Edward and Irene (Vizina) Cadeau. He was raised in Baraga and went in to the US Army during WWII. He moved to Alston in 1946 and married the former Elsie Kemppainen on June 29, 1946 at St. Ann's Church in Baraga. Ed was a farmer most of his life. He also was a jobber for Celotex and Mead as a logger. Since 1983 he and Elsie wintered in Florida for many years.

Ed was a member of St. Ann's Church in Baraga, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 7646 in Alston, American Legion Post 444 in Baraga, DAV, and the Red Rockers Square Dance Club.

Surviving are his wife Elsie Cadeau of Alston; son Patrick (Karen) Miron of Greenville, OH; daughter Pearl (Hubert) LeRue of Baraga; sisters, Rosella Cadeau of Baraga, Eileen (Wesley) Kemppainen of Alston, Ozien George of Dousman, WI; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Preceded him in death are his parents; son Gerald Cadeau; and brothers Gabriel Cadeau and Francis Cadeau.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 24th from 4-6:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home. The Knights of Columbus will say the Rosary at 5:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers with Deacon John Cadeau. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 25th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Baraga with Fr. John Longbucco Officiating. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery where the Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct military rites under the direction of the American Legion Post 444. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
