Elizabeth "Betty" C. Almli age 83 of L'Anse, Michigan passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
Betty was born October 10, 1925 in Alston, Michigan daughter to the late Randolph and Clairbel (Clisch) Oberg. She graduated from L'Anse High School and married Howard Almli on April 27, 1946.
Betty was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and the American Legion Post 144 Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, knitting, crocheting, reading books, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her sons, Tom (Sandy) Almli of L'Anse, Randy Almli of Las Vegas, Howard "Cappy" Almli of L'Anse; daughter Brenda (Gary) Stein of L'Anse; one sister Norma Osterman of L'Anse; six grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband Howard; baby daughter. Catherine Almli; sister Margaret Londo; and a brother Randy Oberg.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church in L'Anse. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Fr. Augustin George will officiate. The burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
