Elsie Anna (Elsie Anna Byrne) Byrne

Elsie Anna Byrne, age 91 of Baraga, MI passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015. She was born February 7, 1924 in Baraga, Mi daughter to Nicholas and Marie (Ricken) Lindemann. Elsie graduated from Baraga High School in 1941. She married Charles Byrne on July 7, 1951 in Baraga, MI; they resided in Harper Woods, MI where she worked as a secretary at a medical clinic. They moved to Baraga in 1978 and she worked at VanStraten's; retiring in 1991. Elsie was a member of St. Ann's Church, and the Eagles. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Surviving are her son John C.(Niki) Byrne of Milwaukee; daughter Marilyn (James) Boyle of Lake Orion, MI; brother Nicholas (JoDean) Lindemann of Baraga; sister Ruth Gryka of Royal Oak, MI; four grandchildren, Steven, Colin, Madeline, Hudson; three great grandchildren, Sierra, Cody, and Inara. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Charles; brother Joseph Lindemann; and sister Helen Tangen. Visitation will be on Friday, November 20th from 5-7 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home; parish prayers will be recited at 6:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Baraga. Fr. Corey Litzner will officiate. Burial will be in the Assinins Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly, 527 Hancock St., Hancock, MI 49930.
