Herman Kinnunen
February 20, 1928 — April 12, 2017
Herman Kinnunen, age 89 of Watton, MI passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at his home.
He was born February 20, 1928 at the family home in Watton, son of John and Maria Kinnunen. Herman graduated from L’Anse High School in 1947. On June 1, 1971, he married the former Jannetta Doers. Herman worked for the Forest Service for over 40 years; starting as a fire tower spotter and later as a forest service tech, retiring in 1994. Herman was a volunteer weather spotter for NWS in Marquette for 20 years.
Surviving are his wife Jannetta of Watton; daughter Christine Kinnunen of Watton; step children, Hazel Bennett of Watton and Gordon Bennett of Iron River.
Per his request there will be no visitation or services. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
