James Daniel Hill, 76 passed away peacefully on Saturday May 14, 2022, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side.
Born April 18, 1946, in Detroit, MI, he was the only child of Ellen and Wesley Hill. He attended Redford High School and then went to Suomi College in the upper peninsula of MI or better known as "God's country'' according to
Jim. The fall of 64 he met Judy Swanson and they were married August 28, 1965 and were married for 56 years. They spent their honeymoon driving from CA back to MI to continue school. He transferred to Norther Michigan University where he graduated with a degree in Management and Marketing.
After graduation, Jim and Judy made their home in Detroit where Jim went to work for Ford Automotive, and they started their family. A few years, later he made a career change to the Kroger Co. and in 1973 he was transferred to Houston, Tx. They settled in Spring, TX where they raised their three children. In 2010 Jim and Judy retired to their "cabin in the woods" in Conroe, TX
Retirement was good to Jim, and he was able to do many things that he loved. He enjoyed being outdoors and many great times were spent at the beach, floating in the pool, and camping with family and friends. His greatest love was his adventures with his wife, Judy together they traveled in their camper to all 48 states and Alaska. Their adventures took them on cruises and trips to many exotic locations. When at home you could find him riding on his John Deere tractor for hours at a time or if it was a Wednesday there was good chance you would find him at the race- track with a group of friends. He also spent a great deal of time cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events, band, plays and dance recitals.
This summer, Jim will return to' God's Country" and be laid to rest in Pelkie,

Jim is survived by his wife Judy and their three children: Julie Steele and her husband Bill of Seattle; Jeana Skobel and her husband Mike of Conroe; and James Hill and his wife Anne-Marie of Spring. He also leaves behind his nine grandchildren: Joshua, Ashton, Jonathan, Jacob Lauren, Kyle, \.Vesley, Lilly, and Beckham. As well as numerous friends that were more like family, and his sweet dog Molly.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 18th at 1:00 p.m. at the Pelkie Cemetery with Rev. John Henry. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
