John Joseph Peschman

John was born December 12, 1927 in Wauwatosa, WI son of Theodore and Catherine (Kraus) Peschman. He grew up and attended school in Milwaukee. John served in the US Navy at the end of WWII from 1945-48. After the service John lived in Chicago for a short while then moved back to Milwaukee where he worked for Gebhardt's along with several jobs to raise his family and was still working part time as an office manager for Active Foam Products.

He was devoted to his family and being a father and grandfather. John was married to Janice Grier for 27 years until she had passed away. Surviving are their children; Jane Inaura of Fairfield, CA, John (Patty) Peschman of Apple Valley, MN, Joseph (Linda) Peschman of New Berlin, WI, and Jay (John Schneider) Peschman of Milwaukee. John later married Margaret "Marge" Hookana-MacMillan in 1981 and she had three children; Jeff (Cathi) MacMillan of Fond du Lac, WI, Jennifer (Dan) Seagren of Oak Creek, WI, and Therese MacMillan of Oak Creek, WI. Together John and Marge had two sons; Daniel Peschman of Gilbert, AZ, and David (Andrea Johns) Peschman of Oak Creek, WI; and an "adopted son" Jacob Perry of Oak Creek, WI.

Also surviving are a brother Robert (Dolores) Peschman of Brookfield, WI; sister Mary (Bruce Bultman) Klabunde of Milwaukee; six grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew, Ryan (Catherine), Justin (Allison) Peschman, Rachael (Marc) Weber, Emerson Rose Seagren; many nieces and nephews.

John was a living example of Christian faith; along with being a longtime member of the Elmbrook Church in Milwaukee he attended the United Methodist Church in L'Anse, where he led bible studies, attended Emmaus 4th Day and provided fellowship.

A memorial service was held on Monday, December 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in L'Anse with Rev. Stephen Rhoades officiating. The Baraga County Area Veterans will conduct military rites at the church at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of the American Legion Post 444. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Memorial Park, 3301 W. Forest Hill Ave., Oak Creek, WI with Military honors.

Fellowship will follow at the All Saints Lutheran Church, 9131 S. Howell Ave., Oak Creek, WI.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
