John King Ward

John Ward, 75, passed away at his home in Skanee on March 9, 2011. John was born in L'Anse on Oct. 7, 1935. He graduated from L'Anse High School in 1953, attended Northern Michigan University for two years before enlisting in the Navy in 1955. While in high school John played in the band and was active in 4-H and the Boy Scouts where he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. John is survived by a brother, Paul (Myrna); sister in law Dorothy Ward' uncle Lawrence (Irma) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers David and Richard. A private family graveside service will be held on July 2, 2011, at the Skanee Cemetery.
