Jonathon James Orlando, age 23 of Askel, MI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 4, 1988 in Long Beach, California, son of James and Jacquelyn (Lahnala) Orlando. Jonathon moved to Askel at age 4; he graduated from Houghton High School in 2007 and continued his education at Gogebic College where he graduated as a Registered Nurse. He worked at Marquette General as an ER Trauma Nurse where he was recognized by peers and coworkers as a valuable asset. He took great pride in his work and received outstanding praise from his patients. He was fortunate to have found a career he loved and excelled at, at such a young age.
Jonathon loved the outdoors; he enjoyed mountain biking, fishing, hunting, golfing and cross country skiing; especially with the company of his brothers (who actually hated the skiing part).
Surviving are his parents James and Jacquelyn Orlando of Askel; brothers, James (Kimberly) Orlando and Nicholas Orlando both of Askel; maternal grandmother, Jean Lahnala of Pelkie, MI; paternal grandfather, James E. Orlando of Long Beach, CA; aunts, Lori, Shannon, and Michelle; and special friends, the Dennis Family of Houghton.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 2nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Judy Mattson officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Karki Hill Cemetery.
Friends may sign Jonathon's guest book or send condolences at www.jacobsonfuneralhome.com.
