Joseph Constance Bianco, age 85 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.

He was born April 9, 1927 in L'Anse, MI son to John and Genevieve (Sandretto) Bianco. Joseph grew up in L'Anse and at age 17 he went into the US Navy from 1944-46 during WWII; then returned to graduate from L'Anse High School in 1947. He married the former Rosamond Rolof on September 17, 1949 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L'Anse.

At the age of 12 Joseph began working with his father in the family plumbing business and in 1956 he built the Bianco Plumbing and Heating shop in L'Anse which he owned and operated for over 50 years retiring in 1993.

When Joseph was younger he played football, baseball, softball, and bowled. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp, and watching sports, the Packers, Redwings, and the Tigers. He was known for his Sunday morning breakfast gatherings at his home. He was a family man and loved his grandchildren.

Joseph was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 3897, and the American Legion Post 144 who just honored him as a 65 year member.

Surviving are his wife Rosamond Bianco of L'Anse, children, Dave (Jean) Bianco, Mary Bianco, Mike (Shelley) Bianco, Sue (John) Turunen, Joanne (Ed) Gransell, Joe (Angie) Bianco, Steve Bianco, John (Amy) Bianco, all of L'Anse, Jim (Dana) Bianco of Houghton, MI, and Robert Bianco of L'Anse; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; son Dan Bianco; grandson Jason Bianco; brothers, Jack, Jim, and Tony Bianco; and a sister Barbara Paul.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 12th from 10-12:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in L'Anse. The funeral mass will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. John Longbucco officiating. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery in the spring. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
