Josephine Katherine (Marinich) Campeau

Josephine Katherine Campeau, age 96 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. She was daughter of George and Anna (Martinac) Marinich born on September 18, 1919 on her parents farm in Bovine, MI. She attended the Bovine Grade School. Josephine married Hubert Campeau in 1937 in L'Anse. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, baking, and playing pinocle. Josephine was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, the Alter Society, Eagles, and VFW Auxiliary. Surviving are her son Hubert P. (Norma) Campeau of L'Anse; grandchildren, Donna, Jane, Wayne, Janet, Roger, Bart, Craig; great grandchildren, Terra, Jesse, Christopher, Danielle, Alan, Emily; great great grandchildren, Lexie, Stella, Parker, and Easton. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Hubert; special friend Stanley Johnson; daughter Janice E. (Biddle)Almli; siblings, Anna Milakovich, George Marinich, Mary Kraft, John Marinich, Margaret Gersthner, Joseph Marinich, and Raymond Marinich. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12th from 10-11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Joe, Jerry, Tom, Mike, Jim, and LeRoy Marinich.
