LeRoy Bruce Guindon

LeRoy Bruce Guindon, age 79, a resident of Harrison Township, Michigan passed Friday, April 29, 2016 at Lakepointe Villa Senior Care & Rehab in Clinton Twp., MI. He was born on September 7, 1936 in Baraga, MI to the late Walter and Edith (Collins) Guindon. LeRoy proudly served his country in the National Guard, United States Coast Guard and later in the United States Army Reserves. . He formerly worked as a welder at Upton Industries in Roseville, MI. Leroy enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers and Florida Gators. As a younger man, he could often be found woodworking; building many birdhouses and other novelty items. LeRoy is survived by his two sons Kenneth (Carol) Guindon, Brian (Cassandra) Guindon, grandchildren Stephanie (Steve) Campbell, Stephen Guindon, great-grandchildren Koden and Oliver Campbell, and step-brothers Roger and Alan Patovisti. He was predeceased by his wives, Darlene (Longrie) Guindon and Barbara (Shattuck) Guindon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Rhoades officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 12 noon until 1:00 pm the time of services. Burial will be in L’Anse Evergreen Cemetery with Baraga County Area Veterans conducting military rites at 1:45 p.m. under the direction of the American Legion Post 444.
