Lorraine (Saari) Kanniainen

Lorraine Kanniainen, age 76, of L’Anse, MI passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at UP Health System in Marquette, MI. She was born April 14, 1939 in Negaunee, MI, daughter of Arnie and Winnifred (Tikkanen) Saari. Lorraine graduated from Negaunee High School in 1957. She married Louie D. Kanniainen on August 21, 1970 in Negaunee. Lorraine worked as a home health care aide for several years. She was an avid reader and loved cooking, going to the casino, traveling the world, history, shopping, and collecting figurines. Surviving are her husband Louie of L’Anse; children Liz (Charles) Dickinson of Vancouver, WA, Nicole Knox of Goldendale, WA, Michael (Tenia Hodges) of L’Anse, and Patrick (Robin) of Vancouver, WA; four grandchildren, Michael and Stephen McWilliams, Brandon and Hunter Kanniainen. She is preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15th at 4 pm at Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Rhoades officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
