Martha Aileen Fredrickson, age 87 of L’Anse, MI passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her home.
She was born February 2, 1928 in Pequaming, MI daughter to George and Gundrun (Soli) Salo. Martha attended school in Pequaming and L’Anse; graduating in 1946 from L’Anse High School. She married Stanley Fredrickson on September 26, 1964 in L’Anse. Martha was a member of United Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, watching sports, and being with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Surviving are her sons, Jim (Linda) Derocher of Ishpeming, Stan (Donna) Fredrickson of Baraga; daughters, Evey (Mike) Nordstrom and Joan (Jerry) Bugni both of L’Anse; brother Donald (Judy) Salo of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Jenny (David) Janda of Skanee, MI, Ellen Maki of Chicago, IL; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Stanley; son Bobby Derocher; brother, Ernie Salo; and sister, Doris Graff.
Visitation was on Tuesday, March 17th from 12-1:00 p.m. at United Lutheran Church. Her funeral service was held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Greg Mileski officiating. Burial will on Monday, May 11th at 11 a.m. in the Negaunee Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
