Mary Louise Sikorsky

May 10, 1955 — November 10, 2025

Mary Louise Sikorsky died on Nov 10, 2025 in her home in Savannah after a prolonged illness. She was born May 10, 1955 to parents Ray and Mary Stark of Baraga, Michigan.

She was raised in Baraga and attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. She received an associate degree in Nursing in 1975 and became an RN. She worked at Baraga County Memorial Hospital for many years. She often looked back on those years as her most enjoyable and rewarding because of all the good people she worked with. She moved to North Carolina in 1995 and later to Savannah, Georgia in 2003. She continued her nursing career on a part time basis always wanting to put family first. Her most recent experience was in mental health nursing working at a state hospital on a forensic unit for the criminally insane. She found it very interesting and enjoyable.

Her other interests included sewing, baking, fondness for all types of music, playing piano, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, collecting miniatures, and most recently reading fiction and non-fiction and writing poetry. She also enjoyed boating and fishing with her husband David, bicycle riding, and walking every day for exercise.

She is survived by her husband David of 52 years of Savannah, GA, son Peter (Sarah) of Ishpeming, MI, granddaughter Lillian, daughter, Katherine of Savannah, GA, and son Chris (Kayla) and granddaughters Sophia and Grace of Milwaukee, WI. She is also survived by her brother Paul (Anne) Stark of Baraga, and brother Anthony (Patsy) of Tucson, AZ. She has numerous nieces and nephews.

She would most like to be remembered for her kindness to all and her cheerfulness. She was always devoted to her Catholic faith.

Visitation will be held at Jacobson Funeral Home on Friday, November 14th from 7-9:00 p.m., with the rosary being recited at 8:00 p.m. Her funeral mass will be on Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann Church in Baraga with Fr. Ben Rivard officiating. Burial will be in the Baraga Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Lakeside Inn.

In lieu of flowers, she hoped that donations could be made to a discalced Carmelite order in Florida building a new privately owned convent with a website under the name "Habit Forming Sisters". Another option would be to the Sacred Heart School in L'Anse, MI.
