Mayme L. Joki

Mayme L. Joki, age 86 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at her home.
Mayme was born July 31, 1925 in Nisula, MI daughter to John and Johanna (Pappilla) Liuska. She married Theodore Joki in Detroit. Mayme worked for Helene Tackle Co. in Detroit for many years then returned to the area after her husband died, to be close to family.
She always had a joke for people and they would always ask her for one when they saw her. Mayme truly loved animals and supported such animal groups.
Surviving are a significant other Oliver Maki of 20 years; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Theodore Joki; and 11 siblings.
There will be no visitation. Burial will be in the spring in the Nisula Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
