Mercedes Helen Rajala

Mercedes Helen Rajala, age 85 of Center Line, MI, formerly of L'Anse, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at Henry Ford Bi-County Hospital in Warren, MI.
She was born January 14, 1924 in L'Anse, MI daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Connor) Edwards. Mercedes graduated from L'Anse High School in 1941. She married Wallace Rajala on January 24, 1948 in Detroit, MI. They resided in Center Line, MI since 1950.Mercedes worked for Chicago Rawhide Co for 20 years as a time keeper.
Mercedes was a member of St. Clemons Church. She enjoyed ice skating and dancing.
Surviving are her husband Wallace of Center Line, MI; brother William Edwards of Southfield, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers Robert and Ted Edwards; and sister Margaret Carey.
Burial will be in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery on Tuesday, May 4th at 1:00 p.m. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is assisting the family.
