Michael Scott "Buddah" Anderson, age 52 of Newberry, MI passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident in Iron County, MI.
He was born August 7, 1959 in L'Anse, MI son of William and Patricia (Stein) Anderson. Mike graduated from L'Anse High School in 1977; and went on to receive a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from University of Michigan in 1981. He married the former Jill VanWagner on August 14, 1982 in L'Anse, MI.
Mike worked as a counselor for over 20 years in Texas, Lower Michigan, and in Newberry for Luce County Mental Health. From 2003-5 he went to School of Radiography at Marquette General Hospital and for the past 5 years has worked for North Star Health System in Iron River, MI. He was a member of Elks Lodge #1705 in Newberry.
Mike was known for his dedication, loyalty, zest for life and big smile. Most importantly, he loved Jill and his boys.
Surviving are his wife Jill "Loretta" Anderson of Newberry; sons, Thomas (Andrea) Anderson of Duluth, MN, Jeremy Anderson of Newberry; mother Patricia Anderson of L'Anse; brothers William (Yvonne) Anderson of Ishpeming, MI, Jeff (Diane) Anderson of Waxahachie, TX; sisters, JoEllen (Bob) Lahti of Boyne City, MI, Janelle (Mark) Beeler of L'Anse; mother-in-law and father-in-law Rose and Ralph VanWagner of Skanee, MI; sister-in-laws, Jan (Don) Schneider of Chicago, IL, Jodi VanWagner of Rothschild, WI; brother-in-law Jon VanWagner of L'Anse; special aunt Jackie Anderson of Ann Arbor, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.
Preceding him in death is his father William Anderson.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 12th at 3:00 p.m. at the Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse. Rev. Greg Mileski will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service at the United Lutheran Church in L'Anse. The Jacobson Funeral Home in L'Anse is assisting the family.
