Orvil Raynold Anderson

June 17, 1922 — January 30, 2015

Orvil Raynold Anderson, age 92 of Ontonagon, MI passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home.

He was born June 17, 1922 in Palmer, MI son of Albert and Juanita (Hurst) Anderson. Orvil grew up in Romulus, MI and graduated from Ford Trade School. He worked for Ford Motor Co. for 40 years; starting in tool and die and then in Quality Control for his last 10 years, retiring in 1980.

In 1940 he married Marie Delowery, she preceded him in death. In 1991 he married Barbara Stewart and they moved to Ontonagon.

Orvil was in the US Navy during WWII and was able to be part of the Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2013. He was a life member of the VFW Post 5300.

Orvil was a member of Assembly of God Church in Ontonagon. He was a master builder, carver, woodworker, an avid reader, and loved sailing.

Surviving are his wife Barbara Anderson of Ontonagon; children, Carol Fredenburg of Traverse City, Bruce (Darlene) Anderson of Ontonagon, Barbara (Donald) Currence of Chelsea, MI; brother Gerald (Sherry) Anderson of Prattville, AL, Muriel Calhoun of Milford, MI; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents; first wife Marie Anderson; daughters, Mae Pitts and Dolores Miller; sisters, Mavis Rocheleau, Lenora Miller, and Berta Dezomits.

A memorial service will be held, a date and time will be announced in the future. The Jacobson Funeral Home of L'Anse is in charge of arrangements.
