Paul Allen Rajala, age 79, of Covington, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Baraga County Memorial Hospital.
Paul was born on January 20, 1946, in Covington, the son of Alexander and Vieno (Norback) Rajala. He graduated from L'Anse High School in 1964 and went on to attend Michigan Technological University. Soon after, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968. On October 14, 1983, Paul married Margaret Brazeau in Baraga. He worked as a welder at the Tilden Mine, dedicating 32 years of service before his retirement.
Paul was a man who enjoyed the outdoors and simple pleasures in life. He found joy in hunting, fishing, golfing, and cutting wood. Some of his happiest moments were spent on road trips with his granddaughter Jillian, creating memories that his family will always treasure.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn (Sean Stewart) Connor of Tecumseh, MI; grandchildren, Alexis Mills, Sydney Horn, and Jillian (Tyler Laduron) Mills; great-grandchildren, Mia Horn and Finley Mills; siblings, Francis (Leona) Rajala of Watton, Marcy Collins of Covington, Linda Holma of Covington, and Gloria (Rudy) Franti of Ishpeming; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by the love of his life Marge; his parents; Alex and Vieno; and siblings, Reino, Carl, Jimmy, Peter, Matt, John, and Mary Rajala, Alice Besonen, and Helen Perrow.
In keeping with Paul's wishes, no funeral service will be held. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
