Ronald Peter Pelon

April 16, 1943 — May 21, 2011

Ronald Peter Pelon, age 68 of Baraga, MI passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at his home after a 4 year battle with cancer.

He was born in Detroit, MI on April 16, 1943 son of Edward and Genevieve (Coski) Pelon. Ron was raised in L'Anse and attended school in L'Anse and Baraga. He was in the US Navy and then married Candace Myers on June 13, 1964 in Tomahawk, WI at St. Mary's Church. They resided in Tomahawk until moving back to Baraga in 1984. He worked for Northern Orthotics and Prosthetics in Baraga for a few years and then worked for Pettibone Cylinder Shop from 1987 until retiring in 2000.

Ron loved spending time with his family and enjoyed watching boxing, the Redwings, NASCAR, RFD & Country music, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife Candace of Baraga; son Steve (Tamurus) Pelon of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter Roni Sue (Tom Hudson) Disney of Baraga; favorite mother-in-law Ruth Myers of Tomahawk, WI; brother Jerry (Jodi) Pelon of Baraga; sisters Jenny Ann Martin of Tomahawk, WI, Rita (Dave) Hahn of Merrill, WI, Mona (Al) Whitake of Tomahawk, WI, Linda (Joe) Ellenich of Baraga Marilyn (Gene) Ross of Baraga; sister-in-law Wanda Ferenbach of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren, Christopher Pelon, Amber Pelon, EJ Disney, Dustin Disney; great grandchildren Hunter, Riley, Trinity, and Navaia Pelon.

Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter Connie Marie Pelon; brother Jimmy Pelon; sister Loreen Sauvola.

There will be no funeral services at this time. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
