Ruth Elizabeth (Mattson) Hill

Ruth Elizabeth Hill, age 97 of Covington, MI passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Shulstad’s Leisure Living in Baraga, MI.
She was born December 3, 1917 in Covington, MI daughter to August and Aliina (Rajala) Mattson. Ruth attended school in Covington. She married Verner Autio and he preceded her in death and then she married Uno Hill. Ruth was the Post Master at the Covington Post Office for several years.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington. Ruth was a wonderful artist, enjoyed painting wooden ducks and oil painting. She also enjoyed walking.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husbands Verner Autio and Uno Hill; children, Ordean Autio, Clark Autio, and Nancy Autio; siblings, Ellen Wigg, Elsie Lehtonen, Laina Wigg, Eli Mattson, Raymond Mattson, Wesley Mattson, and Loretta Agnes Strilich.
Surviving are her grandson Shawn Autio; great grandchildren, Alisha Autio and Christopher Autio; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 29th from 10-11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Reinsch officiating. Burial will be in the Covington Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
