Sylvia Eleanora Tikkanen, age 92 formerly of Herman, MI passed away on July 25, 2013 at Bayside Village in L'Anse, MI.
She was born January 24, 1921 in Pequaming, MI daughter to the late Oscar and Hilda (Hiltunen) Maki. Sylvia grew up in Aura, MI; she married Oliver Tikkanen and they resided in Herman, MI.
Sylvia crocheted beautiful afghans and enjoyed knitting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Oliver, one niece and one nephew. Surviving are two nieces, one nephew, and some cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Mileski officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
