Virginia Genevieve LaFernier

Virginia Genevieve LaFernier, age 81 of Baraga, MI passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at her home.
She was born on September 29, 1930 in Baraga, MI daughter to Ernest and Anna (Sterk) Kunick. Virginia graduated from Baraga High School in 1948 and then married Bernard LaFernier in 1949 in L'Anse. She enjoyed camping.
Virginia was a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are her children, Bernard LaFernier, Jerry LaFernier, and Kathleen (Bob) Manning all of Baraga; brother Ernest (Kathy) Kunick of Baraga; sisters, June Santti of Watton, MI, Shirley (Dick) Bleile of Baraga, Marcella (Bill) Vadnais of Keweenaw Bay, Anne (Wayne) Swartz of Baraga, Fran (John) Chartier of Pelkie; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Bernard.
There will be no funeral service at this time. The Jacobson Funeral home is assisting the family.
