Betty J (Dault) Johnson

July 20, 1928 — August 20, 2020

Betty J. Johnson, age 92 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.

She was born July 20, 1928 in Milwaukee, WI daughter of Homer and Anna (Ross) Dault. Betty graduated from L'Anse High School. She married Emmett Johnson on May 24, 1947 in L’Anse, MI.

Betty was a member of Schoolcraft Assembly of God. Her PASSION was crocheting of which she was a true artist. Her FUN was belonging to the Red Hat Society and donning those stylish hats. And her true JOY was being the world’s best wife, mother and grandmother. Her friends and family cherished her and her genuine love of life. She saw the good in every soul she met and welcomed you into her heart and home. You never left her home or presence ‘empty’. She greeted you with open arms, an open heart and a meal she could whip up at blinding speed. She loved her home and made it a haven for all who entered. Her family and friends cherished her, and she will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her children, Dale Johnson of Milwaukee, WI, David (Marjorie) Johnson of L'Anse, MI, Suzanne (Thomas) Vardigan of Mattawan, MI; brother Roger Dault of Escanaba, MI; grandchildren, Dale Jr, Jason, Jared, David II, Damon, Nicole, Joshua, Jasmin, Jennay, Jessica; and 8 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Emmett Johnson; son Duane Johnson; brother Homer Dault Jr; and grandson Kerry Johnson.

A private graveside service will be held in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
