Brennan Patrick Bedner, age 53, of Baraga, passed away unexpectedly on November 13, 2019, at Baraga County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Upper St. Clair, PA on March 2, 1966 to Patrick and Joyce (Lubrani) Bedner. He was born with a congenital heart defect, in which he had no pulmonary artery.
Brennan graduated from Peters Twp High School in 1984 and received his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from West Virginia University in 1987. He then moved to Baraga, Michigan in 1988. He married the former Mary Wadaga in 1989, and had two loving girls, Erica Rae and Kelly Jo who all meant the world to him.
Brennan was very involved in the Baraga Community, in which he served on the Baraga Area School Board, Bay Ambulance Board, and was active in school activities. He was also a substitute teacher for many years and especially enjoyed talking with the students. Brennan was a social butterfly, whether it be running into him at the casino, grocery store, post office, etc. He had a love for sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates, in addition to the West Virginia, Michigan, and Michigan State teams.
His smile and laughter were contagious, and definitely reached many individuals in the community. Brennan was the kind of guy that would do anything for anyone. He was kind and welcoming, and had a larger than life personality. His heart condition may have stopped him from doing many things throughout life, but Brennan had boundless perseverance and performed and achieved many things that people thought he couldn’t do because of his condition.
