Carol Ann (Buis) Cooley

Carol Ann (Buis) Cooley, age 85, of Skanee, MI died on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 at the Bayside Village in L'Anse, MI.

Carol was born September 3, 1935 in Van Buren County, MI to Bert and Viola (Shaw) Buis. In 1953 she graduated from Gobles High School. Carol married James Cooley in October 1954 and they raised two children. Carol was a school bus driver for Arvon Township for close to 20 years. She was a member of the Arvon township fire department auxiliary and a 4-H leader for many years. Carol enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, and raising small farm animals.

She is survived by her husband James Cooley of Skanee, MI; son Scott (Juana) Cooley of Clyde, NC, grandson Dyllan (Hattie) Cooley of Clyde, NC, daughter Allyson (Craig) Cooley-Brakeman of Traverse City, MI, her sister Kathryn (Buis) Nogle of Plainwell, MI and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Earl and Roy Buis.

The family is following her wishes for cremation and no visitation service. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
