Carol Jean (Toivonen) Paquette

Carol Jean Paquette, age 77, of L'Anse, MI passed away on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 at her home with her family at her side.
She was born June 8, 1945 in Detroit, MI daughter of John and Mildred (Luiska) Toivonen. At the age of 5 Carol moved to Mass City, then moved to Berkley, MI where she graduated from Berkley High School. She went on to Schoolcraft College in Livonia to get a cosmetology degree. She moved to L'Anse in 1989 and married Paul (Mike) Paquette. Carol worked for 15 years as a kitchen supervisor for the Baraga Maximum Correctional Facility, and then worked as an employee and volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul in L'Anse.
Surviving are her children, Curtis (Michelle Williams) Settino of Portland, OR, Carrie (Mike Tikkanen) Settino of L'Anse, MI; grandchildren, Lucas and Baylie Burkowski; and sister Donna Harkkonen of Arizona.
Preceding her in death are her parents John and Mildred; husband Paul Paquette; and brothers, John and Gary Toivonen.
