Jackie Leroy Roth, age 76 of L'Anse, MI passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at U.P. Health System Marquette, MI.
He was born October 21, 1942 in Wittenberg, WI son of George and Melinda (Smith) Roth. Jackie married Raylene Barnett on May 26, 1962 in Baraga. He worked at Celotex as a truck driver for 40 years, retiring in 2002.
Jackie enjoyed 4-wheeling looking for deer, being outside in nature and good times around the fire with family and friends, walking around his pond, partaking in fishing and hunting, even the not so fun part, the work as they say - cleaning of the fish and butchering of the deer. He loved to tinker with pigeons, doves, and rabbits and we would tease him he wasn’t happy unless one of his pets had babies. He loved being with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Terry Roth of Old Fort, NC, Richard (Tara) Roth of Pembroke, NC, Deborah (Ken) Cholette of Aura, MI, Daniel (Lois) Roth of Port Washington, WI; siblings, Wally (Carol) Roth of L'Anse, Pat Roth of L'Anse, Gladys (John) Telschow of Ukiah, CA, Dorothy Pike of Brandenburg, KT, Jesse (Diane) Roth of TN; sister-in-law Irma Roth of Green Bay; grandchildren, Linda (Zach), Cindy, Jack, Mary, Josh; two great grandchildren, Lillian and Garrett.
Preceding him in death are his parents; George and Melinda Roth; Wife; Raylene Roth, Brother; George Roth Jr; Sisters; Mae Charles and Mary Roth.
A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, July 13th at 1 p.m,. at the Skanee Park, weather permitting. Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
