Obituary

Jennifer Patterson, 78, of Independence, Missouri, died peacefully at home on December 27, 2020 in Hastings, Minnesota, with her family by her side.

Jennifer was born on December 6, 1942 in Baraga, MI, the daughter of John W. and Rose M. (Alatalo) Jestila. She graduated from Baraga High School in 1960 and later earned an accounting degree and worked for the State of Missouri and for the IRS.

Jennifer loved to be active. She walked every day, rode her bike and was an avid golfer. She loved to play her guitar and sing. She loved to travel and spend time visiting her family. Her children were “the three greatest loves of her life” and she especially adored her grandchildren. Jennifer treasured her 33 years of sobriety and the friends and fellowship of the AA program over all of those years. Most of all, Jennifer knew the Lord.  She found peace and strength in reading her bible and listening to radio preaching and singing.

Jennifer is survived by “the three greatest loves of her life” her children Robert “Bob” (Triny) Dawson of Hastings, MN, Karrie (Dan) Tipler of Hastings, MN and Heather (Luc) Roche of Apple Valley, MN, her grandchildren Paul, Daniel, Jessie, Tori, Melissa, Sandra, Kaitlyn, Cole, Valya, Vova, Nathaniel and Audrey, her siblings Daryl (Sylvia) Jestila, Darlene Smith, Terry (Nita) Jestila, Linda (Mark) Massie, Judy (Armondo) Balber and Betty (Tom) Bartus, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends and she loved them all.  She was preceded in death by her parents John Jestila and Rose Mathes and siblings John “Jack” Jestila and Paul Jestila.

A memorial service will take place at home in Hastings, Minnesota, on Wednesday, December 30th. Interment will take place in the summer at the Baraga Village Cemetery, Baraga, Michigan.  Friends may sign Jennifer's guest book at www.jacobsonfuneralhome.com
