Joseph Richard Bellaire, age 66 of Covington, MI passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Rolling Meadows Senior Living where he was residing for the past 8 years.

He was born June 26, 1954 in L'Anse, MI son of Richard and Elizabeth (Jarvey) Bellaire. Joe graduated from Baraga High School in 1972. He was in the U.S. Army from 1976-81, and a Disabled American Veteran. Joe worked at Erickson Lumber where he piled lumber. He then owned and operated U Needa Taxi company and was known as "Taxi Joe".

Surviving are his siblings, Margaret Bonilla of Salinas, CA, Donna (Frank) Costelli of Holbrook, AZ, Ray (Roxann) Bellaire of Baraga, Patricia (Dave) Delisle of L'Anse, Charles (Maggie) Bellaire of Peyton, CO, Cheryl (Jerry) Armstrong of Peyton, CO, Norma (John) Domitrovich of L'Anse; and a son Joseph Bellaire of North Pole, Alaska.

Preceding him in death are his parents Richard and Elizabeth Bellaire and a baby brother Lawrence Bellaire.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 9th from 2-3:45 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the Baraga Cemetery with military rites being conducted by the Baraga County Area Veterans followed by committal prayers by Fr. Corey Litzner. The Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

People are reminded to follow the CDC guidelines and follow social distancing and the wearing of face coverings.
