Joseph Francis Provost

Joseph Francis Provost, age 92 of Sidnaw, MI passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Iron County Medical Care Facility.

He was born January 7, 1928 in Sidnaw, MI son of Henry and Ida (Demster) Provost. Jo Jo graduated from Kenton High School. He was in the US Navy during WWII. Jo Jo married Kathryne Rummery on Sept. 27, 1952 in Holt, MI. He owned and operated a Dump Trucking company prior to driving for Howard Sober Trucking Co. in Lansing. Jo Jo also drove truck for Bacco and Lindberg Construction. He was with the teamsters union for 40 years, retiring in 1990. In 1964 he moved back to Sidnaw and owned and operated JoJo's Bar for 10 years, then moved to Iron River and owned and operated Mertin's Cafe until 1977, moving back to Sidnaw to retire.

He was a life member of VFW in Covington and a member of the American Legion in Stambaugh. Jo Jo enjoyed going to camp to putter, hunting, and fishing.

Surviving are his wife Kathryne Provost of Iron River; son Raymond Provost of Iron River; grandchildren, Marc (Ashley) Provost of Negaunee, Michael Provost of Belleview, FL, Brandis Larson of Iron River; great grandchildren, Keagan, Hailey, Nora, Zac, and Alyvia.

Preceding him in death are his parents; son Milton Provost; brothers, Edward, Milton; sisters, Evelyn Beauprey and Elizabeth Norback.

In accordance with his wishes there will be no funeral service. Burial will be in the Sidnaw Cemetery. The Jacobson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
