Margaret (Loonsfoot) Wilkins Poleahla

Margaret (Loonsfoot) Poleahla, age 75 of Falls Church, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in Fairfax, VA.

Margaret graduated from Negaunee High School. She retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs after 41 years as a legislative Specialist. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Laryssa Wilkins and Guillermo Portillo, III of Falls Church, Aaliyah and Jinsi Kingfisher, Aurora Wilkins of Oklahoma.

She is survived by her husband Dean Poleahla of Falls Church, VA; son Mark Wilkins of Falls Church; two grandchildren, Lynnette Nicole Wilkins of Falls Church, Dustin Wilkins of Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren; brother Virgil Loonsfoot and sister Diane DeCota all of Baraga.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Simon and Charlotte (Kishketog) Loonsfoot; son Charles E. Wilkins Jr.; granddaughter Jessica Rae Kingfisher; brother Clifford Loonsfoot; sister "Marie" Elizabeth Durant.

Her funeral mass will be on Tuesday, June 23rs at 1:00 p.m. at Most Holy Name of Jesus Church in Assinins with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Assinins Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Baraga Seniors. Jacobson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
