Virginia Carol (Glenn) Dowler

Virginia Carol Dowler, age 83 of Pelkie, MI passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at her home.
She was born September 13, 1936 in Kalamazoo, MI, daughter of Wilbur and Geleah (Kiggins) Glenn. Virginia grew up in Kalamazoo and attended school there. She married Porter Calvin Dowler Jr on April 9, 1955 in Kalamazoo. In 1977 they moved to L'Anse until 2012, when Virginia moved to Pelkie. She enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles, camping, and watching TV.
Surviving are her son Porter (Sonya) Dowler III of Baraga; daughters, Janie (Kenny) Minton of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Louise Dowler of Pelkie; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband Porter Dowler Jr; sons, Michael Dowler and Tom E. Dowler; daughter Maria Floyd; and a grandchild Keyaira.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Jacobson Funeral Home with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Alamo Twp. Cemetery at a future date. The Jacobson Funeral Home has been entrusted with assisting the family.
